North-East Romania Regional Development Agency (NERDA)
Established in 1999 as a non-governmental, non-profit, of public utility organization, NERDA contributes to reducing regional disparities by stimulating the economic, social and cultural development of the North-East Region in Romania.
NERDA is:
1) A generator of economic and social development in North-East Romania, by:
- developing and promoting regional development strategies, attracting resources, identifying and implementing financing programs, and providing services for the sustainable stimulation of economic growth, international partnerships and entrepreneurship;
- creating entities capable of developing regional communities (i.e.g. Rubik Hub — the largest community in the North-East Region dedicated to startups and entrepreneurship);
- setting up regional offices for cross-border cooperation in Iasi and Suceava, promoting cooperation between regions, communities and authorities through transnational development strategies for social stability and economic progress.
2) A facilitator of national and international collaborations and partnerships, by:
- collaborating openly and impartially with all representatives of the Quadruple Helix: Public Authorities — Academic Environment — Private Environment — Civil Society.
