Governing Digital or Governing with Digital?

The #metaverse is coming – what positive and negative effects will it have on our #society? Smart cities are the technology that is smart or the knowledgeable people that use this technology to their benefit? Citizens today are online and connected 7/24/365 and tend to rely more and more on global platforms, for ease of use and flexibility. Do governments, especially local ones, have to also join global or develop local tech?

Digital transformation is a cultural change, especially for government ecosystems. They have to learn new skills, adapt to new (business) concepts, and become more and more citizen-centric in their approach and processes. How far are we from seeing Government as a Platform?

Tackling disinformation and the issue of whether and how to regulate digital technology and the big tech companies are drawing increasing attention. Is it only global tech that should be regulated or local as well? And is its regulation in the form of rule-setting that we are talking about or in the form of control of free information flow?
