Oleksii Makeiev Oleksii Makeiev

Ambassador, Special Envoy on Sanctions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

Oleksii Makeiev is in diplomatic service since 1996. Oleksii has worked for Ukrainian Diplomatic representations in Switzerland and Germany. He is a specialist in issues of international security and analysis of internal political processes.

In 2014 he was appointed as Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. In May 2020 minister Kuleba appointed him to the position of special envoy on sanctions politics at MFA.

Oleksii is coordinating activities of the Foreign Ministry within and is also aimed at the interaction of Ukraine with international partners - primarily the G7 states and the European Union in the field of sanctions policy.

Currently, he is actively leading the campaign against the aggressor country and is working with the Swiss government to create a Western Sanction Policy.
